Reference Implementation
The IGNITE consortium became actively involved in the
Translation Web Services (TWS) Technical Committee (TC) which
operates under the umbrella of OASIS. The main aim of IGNITE
was to verify the internal coherence of this emerging standard
by developing a reference implementation. IGNITE identified
shortcomings with the specification and worked with the TC to
dramatically improve the standard. The implementation is

Localisation Research Centre - coordinators of IGNITE
The Localisation Research Centre (LRC) has been the educational, research and infrastructural support centre for localisation since 1995. It has an Industrial Advisory Board representing twenty of the world's leading localisation service providers, eContent publishers, software developers, tools developers and training organisations.

Pass Engineering GmbH - IGNITE partner
PASS Engineering GmbH was created in 1989. Achim Herrmann and Florian Sachse are managing directors and together hold 66% of PASS Engineering shares. The company is based in Bonn, Germany (www.pass-enginnering.com) It was established as a software provider for medical analysis systems. Medical software is by definition international software. Some of our clients - as global players - encouraged us to look for ways to offer the localized software at reasonable prices. Our idea of efficient localisation, integrated in the development process, has been realised in the creation of PASSOLO, the PASS Software Localizer, marketed since 1998. Today, PASS Engineering is one of the leading providers of software localisation tools.
